our puppies:career changes

Not every puppy is destined to become a guide dog. About half of the puppies in the guide dog program will not qualify for a career as a guide dog. These dogs are "career changed." Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc has a number of cooperative arrangements with other service dog associations where some pups will find a new career. With the skills they have acquired, some dogs become therapy dogs, work in search and rescue, or begin many other wonderful careers. See our "Links " page for a partial listing of these organizations.  Many become loving pets to carefully selected individuals or families.

Regardless of its eventual role, each puppy we raise is exceptionally special. We'd like you to meet the incredible dogs that have left our nest, but never our hearts.
